How to create SBI account online with Video KYC ?


Step by step process:

The State Bank of India (SBI) has introduced a new process for opening a savings account using Video KYC (Know Your Customer). This process allows you to open a savings account from the comfort of your home without visiting a bank branch.

 Here are the steps to create an SBI account online using Video KYC:

  •  Download the SBI YONO app: The first step is to download the SBI YONO app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. The app is available for both Android and iOS devices.

  •  Register for YONO: After downloading the app, you need to register for YONO by providing your mobile number. You will receive an OTP on your mobile number, which you need to enter in the app to complete the registration process.
  •  Start the account opening process: Once you have registered for YONO, you can start the process of opening a savings account. You will be asked to provide your personal details such as your name, date of birth, email address, and permanent address.
  •  Upload KYC documents: You will also be asked to upload your KYC (Know Your Customer) documents such as PAN card, Aadhar card, and a recent passport-sized photo.
  •  Video KYC: After uploading your KYC documents, you will be asked to complete the Video KYC process. You need to enable the camera on your device and allow the app to access your camera. A bank representative will then connect with you through the video call and verify your identity by asking you to show your PAN card and Aadhar card.
  •  Complete the account opening process: After the successful completion of Video KYC, you need to enter your nominee details and choose a password for your account. You will also be asked to set a four-digit MPIN (Mobile Personal Identification Number) for your account.
  •  Submit the application: After providing all the required details, you can submit the application by clicking on the “Submit” button. Your application will then be processed by the bank, and you will receive an email and SMS with your account number and other details.
  •  Activation of account: The activation of your account will take a few days, and you will receive an SMS and email with the details of your account activation. After activation, you can start using your SBI savings account.
